Astro-planner for Libra Season 2021

‘Libra is of hot and humid nature (aerial). Its angel holds the keys of the creation of states (ephemeral) and of changes.’

Period September 22 – October 23, 2021

All dates and times according to Eastern Daylight Time

September 22, 2021, 15:21: The Sun moves into Libra, marking the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere and the spring equinox in the southern hemisphere. Day and night are of equal length, symbolic of a deeper balance between light and dark within us.

The planet Venus rules Libra, where she has her diurnal or outward-going expression. Happy birthday to all Libras, young and younger!

New readers to this blog may wish to read about the archetypal qualities of Libra in an older post here.

Libra people typically consider things carefully and seldom make impulsive decisions. Even when they err, they have more than likely weighed up the pros and cons of their behavior, and somehow justified it to themselves.

Take note if you live with a Libra: it is hard to convince them that they are in the wrong – or possibly heading off course – if you use emotive persuasion. Try rational facts instead and you may just receive the response for which you hoped!

Wise Libras and Libra rising people make conscious efforts to get “out of their heads and into their bodies” regularly. Social yet cerebral games such as tennis suit this type well. Keeping physically active is not only good for their health in a general sense but facilitates the movement of energy down from the mental sphere into the earthy body, acting as a wonderful stress relief.

September 22 – 29, 2021: The Sun enters Libra on September 22 just two days after the Pisces Full Moon – and we may all be able to feel the shift in energy if we tune in to our bodies. We’re moving from earthy Virgo Sun (and nebulous Pisces Moon) energy into action-driven Libra energy – which is mind-orientated.

The Sun and action-planet Mars are now close together in Libra and are looking harmoniously at time lord Saturn. This offers us opportunities to start business projects for which we wish to see long-term growth, and is also favorable for dealing with retirement plans or aging parents. It’s the week to take care of things before Mercury turns retrograde for the third and final time this year.

Mindset planet Mercury is still traveling through the sign of Libra and will continue to be here until November 6. On September 29, Mercury moves retrograde at 25° Libra. During the period September 22 to October 4, Mercury will be square Pluto. Many instances of persuasive communication may be noticed now, or it may be your turn to step up and communicate with authority. Are you ready? Do you know how to weigh your words?

We are also called upon to revisit unfinished business now. Things may feel as if they are slowing down a little – go with this, don’t try to fight it. The slowdown is lawful, allowing you to catch up on things. You may like to connect with an old friend and hang out together.

For the earlier part of the Libra season (September 22 – October 6) when social planet Venus is in Scorpio, we may be more sensitive than usual to implied criticism – whether it was intended to help or hurt. Instead of ruminating over or reacting to what others say, this is a wonderful period to try to find the compromise in every situation! Peace-making overtures go a long way to heal old wounds now.

October 6, 2021, 7:05 am: New Moon at 13° Libra – a potent time for the world’s stage! Our prayers for world harmony and balance are needed.

Now, more than ever before, is the time to realize that your intentions matter, your words matter, and your life matters. If you’re still reacting to things that upset you in the same way that you did ten or twenty years ago, maybe it’s time to make a change.

October 7, 2021: Venus leaves the watery depths of Scorpio and moves in Sagittarius. We may feel a lightening of energies as the weekend gets under way!

October 18, 2021: Jupiter moves direct at 22° Aquarius. This is a great couple of days (17th-18th) to reflect back on what you were doing in late March of this year. How would you like to handle things differently this time around?

October 20, 2021, 10:56 am EDT: Full Moon at 27° Aries. A Full Moon is a time of culmination – we are offered the opportunity to harvest what we planted at the New Moon on October 6. As always, the reward is equal to the effort. Alternatively, we may feel compelled to express emotional truths that have been emerging since the New Moon.

The Aries-Libra polarity highlights the need for balance between independence and inter-dependence, between courageous actions and considered responses, between raw authenticity and cultured consideration. Whether you’re trying to balance these within your relationship at home, at work, or within yourself, be sensitive to the feelings which bubble up now to be seen.

October 23, 2021: The Sun enters Scorpio and we slip into the deep, watery realms.

May you enjoy the many balanced days of warmth and cool offered by the Libra season! And may you find a sense of equilibrium within. It’s really up to you now.
