Greetings, Dear Astrology Lovers,
August is eclipse season. Eclipses carry symbolic weight, evoking hidden truths, instant shifts, and a temporary pause in the powerful flow of life.
While eclipse season is not a time to make important decisions, it can be a profoundly rich period. Be watchful for any of the following showing up in your life:
Remember that the light of the Sun or Moon is only interrupted temporarily so that something may be adjusted, healed or revealed. If you experience a moment of disorientation in the dark, stay centered and breathe. August is a great month to shake up your routine, take a break, and pray for a revelation if one is needed.
I’ll see you on the other side!
August 3–28: Mars, our action planet, will be out of bounds during most of the month. From the 3rd until the 11th, Mars will travel through the sign of Gemini, and then through Cancer from the 11th onwards. If you find yourself more reactive than usual, try to take a moment before answering those you love. Stay physically active and aim to get to the beach!
August 7: Mercury, our communication and travel planet, is direct all month and moves out of its shadow phase on August 7. Expect dialogue to clear and travel plans to move forwards from the 7th onwards. Venus, our relationship and money planet, enters into Libra, also on the 7th. Venus will dance through Libra until September 10, and again from October 26 until December 4, part of which will be in retrograde motion. Venus in Libra sends forth a healing energy for social relations, romantic commitments and for getting one’s financial house in order.
August 10: A Mystic rectangle forms, involving harmonious aspects between Air and Fire signs. This should feel uplifting for us all, and offer the most opportunities for those with planets and angles in your chart between 0° and 4° of these two elements. Don’t worry if you don’t know your chart: use the time wisely to tune in to a calm mindset.
August 10 – 11: Mars moves into 0° Cancer, potentially activating events on the world’s stage or stirring strong emotions within your own day. Keep calm and carry on as you prepare for the upcoming eclipse.
August 12: The New Moon at 20° Leo, at which there is a Solar Eclipse. Mercury and Jupiter in Leo oppose Pluto in Aquarius at the eclipse. The highest expression of this eclipse may be the sudden confidence to step into your own role and play it center-stage, with grace. If you’ve been running away from your life, this could be a powerful turning point. Take note that the eclipse energy can take months to unwind.
August 23: The Sun enters into Virgo – happy birthday dear Virgo friends! Mercury will join the Sun a couple of days later, heralding in an auspicious window (until September 9) for contracts, deal-making, travel and technology.
August 29th – 31st: Jupiter trines Saturn at 13° Leo – the first of three trines between these two planets between now and late 2027. This combination offers a supportive energy to help align you with your purpose.
The Full Moon at 4° Pisces on the 28th heralds a Lunar Eclipse. Piercing insights, deep feelings, and a sensitivity to the chiaroscuro of life’s ups and downs may swirl over these days.
Aim to end the month having taken a pause at some point to reassess your inner and outer landscape. While all interregnums are temporary, they usually act to clear the air. We feel refreshed and ready to return to life after a break.
May the Sun shine upon you,
Catherine
Extract from The Bhagavad Gita:
“The wise see that there is action in the midst of inaction and inaction in the midst of action.
Their consciousness is unified, and every act is done with complete awareness.
The awakened sages call a person wise when all his undertakings are free from anxiety about results;
all his selfish desires have been consumed in the fire of knowledge. The wise, ever satisfied, have abandoned all external supports.
Their security is unaffected by the results of their action;
even while acting, they really do nothing at all…”
