From Virgo to Libra, September 2026: Find your Transition

Greetings Dear Astrology Lovers,

September is the season of transitions, heralded in by the Sun’s movement into the mutable sign of Virgo at the end of August. Who among us has not felt the shift in the wind and the alteration of the Sun’s light in our mornings? And there have been many profound shifts over the last month, and more to come with the powerful transitionary energy focused around the upcoming New Moon period. Over September 10 11, look out for:
  • relationship adjustments on a profound level
  • speaking your truth / finding your voice
  • opportunities to improve your financial standing.
August saw the family and me hiking the Samaria Gorge, a UNESCO-recognized biosphere treasure and a genuine geological marvel (all pictures are from this adventure)! The joy of endurance was real as we completed ten miles through this sun-drenched, towering labyrinthine sanctuary, surrounded by ancient olive and cypress trees. Eclipses certainly have a way of releasing energy!
Whether your August brought an inner shift or an outer adventure — or both — September now invites you to gather what you have learned and step forward with fresh eyes. Let’s see what the month holds for us!

MINDFUL SEPTEMBER PLANNER

September 19: The month opens with Mercury still traveling through Virgo make the most of this period to replace your vacuum cleaner (my current project!), complete outstanding paperwork of any kind, and establish order within your communications hub at home or work.

September 1012: This period has the potential to be a major reset window if we are willing to put the work in. Note that there are no fewer than four planetary adjustments on the 10th, so take care.

On the 10th, Venus ushers in the shift by entering into Scorpio and forming an opposition aspect with Chiron at 0° Taurus. There is a clear message that if there is healing to do in a relationship, the time has arrived.

Alternatively, we may find ourselves more open to perceiving the truth behind someone’s actions as this period unfolds, or being more sensitive to social status and personal encounters.

Venus will be in Scorpio until late October, after turning retrograde there on the 3rd of October. Venus will then revisit Scorpio from December 5 – January 8, so we will have plenty of time to explore the depths of what, and who, we value. Your best attitude during the next couple of months may be not to take things too seriously. When in doubt, smile and carry on!

Later in the day on September 10, Mercury, our communication and travel planet, moves into Libra and there is potential energy projected onto the world’s stage. In our own lives, we are asked to find the middle ground in negotiations and to give others the benefit of the doubt. Communication can go viral now, so measure each word carefully.

A couple of hours after Mercury’s move, Uranus the Awakener moves retrograde at 4° Gemini: check all travel plans and move mindfully through space and timewe are still in the dark phase of the Moon.

The tender New Moon arrives close to midnight in New York on September 10th, at 18° Virgo. The days after should bring a sense of relief, as if we are finally moving forward, with a beam of light to guide our way.

Take time on the 11th for a cleansing ritual, washing away tension and burdens, and welcoming in calmness and ease. This can be done without any elaborate plans, at any washbasin or pool; it is the intention and sincerity of your actions that matter.

September 1416: Venus in Scorpio builds to a square with Pluto in Aquarius: measure your responsiveness over these days. If you find your reactions rather intense, aim for greater moderation. Conscious, creative cooking, music-making, or art therapy are wonderful at this time! Alternatively, watch your favorite comedy show or take a walk to release energy.

September 2226: The Sun breezes into Libra on the 22nd: happy birthday dear Libra friends! This movement also heralds the Equinox, as the Sun crosses directly over the Earth’s equator, a time to reflect on the balance between our inner and outer lives. Sense the shift as the world begins a new season and we are asked to re-evaluate our schedules. This may be an exceptionally busy few days as we are now building toward the Full Moon, which takes place on the 26th of the month at 3° Aries.

The Moon is in the fiery, cardinal sign of the ram, and is close to Neptune, god of the oceans. This combination, together with action-planet Mars being at the very last degree of Cancer, and Saturn also sitting within the Aries resonance, makes for a potent energy. Embrace this frequency by finding ways to lead with compassion, or to make a long-held dream into a materialized reality.

September 2930: Mars leaves Cancer, then Mercury leaves Libra and the energy shifts once again as the planets move toward forming a strong pattern in fixed signs: Mercury in Scorpio, Mars in Leo, and Pluto in Aquarius. We are called to see things through until the end, to hold firm, and to do so with calm courage!

Wishing you a September of smooth transitions – go with the flow – yet hold firm!

May the Sun shine upon you,
Catherine

Extracts from Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

“But out of all the secrets of the river, he today only saw one, this one touched his soul. He saw: this water ran and ran, incessantly it ran, and was nevertheless always there, was always at all times the same and yet new in every moment! Great be he who would grasp this, understand this!

“Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past nor the shadow of the future.”
