Spring Equinox

LIVING IN TUNE

Welcome to Astrology Update!

On March 20th the Sun entered Aries, marking the Spring Equinox and heralding the start of the astrological year – at last we can shake off the throes of winter and begin anew! Having been born in the Southern hemisphere, I’m always sensitive to the fact that summer is ending there, and autumn beginning. From the perspective of astrology, however, there is no difference whether you were born in the spring or the fall – you’re still an Aries – as the Sun was travelling through the constellation of Aries when you incarnated. Thus, southern hemisphere readers will also feel the urge to move forward in their lives right now as the initiating, fiery energy touches us all.

This Sunday, March 30th, brings the second New Moon of the month, and is a time for consciously setting your intentions. It might be useful to actually write a list on this day – what would you like to get done by the end of April – and review it at the next New Moon (April 29). While your list might include action items, it might also focus on positive intentions, for example: “For my highest good, I wish to see my future as positive and joyful. Every time I catch a negative thought about myself, I’ll try to reframe it in a new light.”

April is a highly charged month, in particular April 15 and April 20-23. Take positive action and work together with others to do something of consequence in your life. If you passively wait around for things to fall into your lap, this invites the more disruptive side of these energies in. The key is to focus your intentions while remaining open to where your life needs adjustment.

On April 15, the focus is on balance in relationships – what does the give-and-take of life really require? Do you give of yourself too much, or too little? This also affects those of you who may not be in a close relationship at present – what do you really wish for? As we think, so our life is.

Tremendous forces to move your goals forward will be available this month in particular for those born April 1 through 3, July 2 to 5, October 4 to 6, and January 1 to 4, and for those of you with a planet or angle near 13 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn. The tension is also being felt by those born May 18 through 19, August 19 through 20, November 19 to 20, and February 16 to 17, or with a planet or angle at 28 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius. Staying fixed is unlikely to yield results for you so embrace a new outlook and try to go with the flow!
