From Aquarius to Pisces, January 2026: Find your Purpose!

Greetings Dear Astrology Lovers,

As January draws to a close, I’ve taken time to reflect on my 2025 travels both to the Himalayas and the Negev – all the pictures shown in this post are from these recent trips. Both regions have a strong military presence due to hostile neighbors; both are barren and sport extreme climates; both are absolutely beautiful.

The privilege of spending time in remote areas such as these is the silence and the space. Something is able to open up from the inside and let go. And most of the people who live in these regions are filled with a respect for life and for the power of nature, and a willingness to seize the day.

These experiences have touched me in ways which impact how I am approaching 2026. With courage to face the daily things which appear challenging, because really, they are insignificant in the wider vista that is Life. People are thriving in the harshest and most brutal places on earth; they are filled with joy and strength, even in the face of war, loss and extreme weather conditions.

This way of approaching life as an adventure and a gift is possible for all of us. Finding our purpose beyond the externals is necessary for authentic fulfillment. Having a sense of purpose makes a positive attitude possible.

February is an opportune month to find your renewed purpose and embrace the moment — the biggest astrological event of the year takes place this month —

MINDFUL FEBRUARY PLANNER

1st: The month begins with the Full Moon in Leo inviting us to open our hearts. Is there something you know you must do which requires generosity and sacrifice on your part – and you’ve been putting it off? Allow the light to shine on your actions now. Most heartbreak at the end of life is caused by regret for not saying “yes”.

This Full Moon period can also be a time of heightened creativity and joy!

4th: Uranus the Awakener moves from retrograde to direct. Take a day of adjustment. Uranus rules the internet, technology, AI and electricity, to name but a few! Keep calm and carry on.

6th – 10th: Mercury swims into Pisces on the 6th and will retrograde in this sign on the 25th. Take extra care with mindful communications during this entire month. Note that Mercury in Pisces can sometimes indicate back-tracking or “swimming out” of agreements. Venus, goddess of values, money and love, joins Mercury in Pisces on the 10th, offering increased beauty, music and compassion. Are we able to tune in to this new vibration? Flowers in the home can assist.

13th: Saturn enters Aries at the world’s axis. Tensions around us may appear to mount. The increase in tension in our own lives is an opportunity to find our renewed purpose — and to switch modes if things are not working out for us right now. If our current use of time feels unaligned with the new zeitgeist, 2026 is an opportune time to let go. Before something new can be born, the old must dissolve. Saturn teaches through limitations and when in Aries we are often forced to push through our own limited perceptions without support. Be fearless now.

17th: New Moon at 28° Aquarius. Pay attention to the day before this New Moon (check your time zone) – the Moon is dark, conjunct Mars and square Uranus. Caution is needed – there are things going on behind the scenes which can change very quickly and take us by surprise. Take extra care in personal dealings and wait a couple of days until passing judgement or making impactful decisions.

The New Moon itself is also the first Solar Eclipse of the year and acts like a trigger point for global events related to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction. The weeks that follow the eclipse are very important for us all.

The New Moon and Solar Eclipse also begin a cycle of change related to ideas. Everything we thought about a certain project may be re-evaluated. There is the opportunity to think right outside of the box this month!

20th: the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries! This is the major astrological event of the year and we have been feeling it since Neptune “flooded” through the Aries gate on January 25-26. In fact, the global realignment we are experiencing has been on the cards since 2020 when Saturn and Pluto came together at 22° Capricorn and Saturn and Jupiter came together at 0° Aquarius.

The Saturn-Neptune conjunction occurs approximately every 36 years and allows for the dissolution of outdated global structures or systems. In our own lives, we may have been feeling big changes coming for a long time now, especially if we have any planets or angles in our natal charts between 29° of mutable signs and 1° of cardinal signs.

Perhaps near the end of February these shifts come to a head or reveal themselves more fully. It will certainly feel like the end of an era in certain parts of the world. Approach your own new projects with tentative steps. If you feel more tired than usual, this is normal. Rest when you can.

24th – 28th: As the month draws to an end, Mars-Uranus reminds us to slow down and watch our step. Venus in Pisces joins forces with Mercury on the 28th, bringing in a soft glow of positive, healing energy. May this guide us to our true purpose.

Wishing everyone a mindful February. Happy birthday dear Aquarius and Pisces friends!

May the Sun shine upon you,
Catherine

I had the good fortune of being interviewed this week by fifth-generation astrologer Aswin Subramanyan on the art and practice of consulting and the Capisar certification program (above video).

“Host Aswin Subramanyan speaks with astrologer Catherine Goshen, Chair of the CAPISAR Consulting Skills Group, on why consulting skills are foundational to ethical and sustainable astrological practice. The conversation explores boundaries, listening, authority, and responsibility, discussing how astrologers can serve clients with clarity, humility, and professional integrity.”

The Guest is inside you, and also inside me;
you know the sprout is hidden inside the seed.
We are all struggling; none of us has gone far.
Let your arrogance go, and look around inside.

The blue sky opens out further and further,
the daily sense of failure goes away,
the damage I have done to myself fades,
a million suns come forward with light,
when I sit firmly in that world.

I hear bells ringing that no one has shaken,
inside “love” there is more joy than we know of,
rain pours down, although the sky is clear of clouds,
there are whole rivers of light.
The universe is shot through in all parts by a single sort of love.
How hard it is to feel that joy in all of our four bodies!

Those who hope to be reasonable about it, fail.

The arrogance of reason has separated us from that love.
With the word “reason” you already feel miles away.

How lucky Kabir is that surrounded by all this joy
he sings inside his little boat.
His poems amount to one soul meeting another.
These songs are about forgetting dying and loss.
They rise above both coming in and going out.
